One of my favorite hobbies is cooking. My husband says that if I didn’t have anyone to cook for, I’d probably go out onto the street and FIND someone to feed. For now, however, I am the chief and only painter while working on one of my other favorite pastimes; buying and remodeling homes. We recently purchased a home in the Victory Park area of Stockton, California, so day in and day out, we work refurbishing our new purchase to bring it back to it's original glory.
We are new to Stockton and we love it! What I find most interesting about Stockton is the wide selection of family-owned eateries. Our first haunt was New Kim Tai, a Chinese, Cambodian & Vietnamese restaurant. We consider this place a real find!
The owners, Gerry and his wife, fled Cambodia years ago and landed in France. He was a Chef in France for a few years, then emigrated to the US and made their home in Stockton. More than 20 years ago, they opened New Kim Tar.
New Kim Tar is a cozy, small, quiet restaurant that offers a delicious $4.95 daily special. The food is excellent and one of their specialties is garlic-fried chicken.
When in the Stockton area, you must try this restaurant. The owners are warm and welcoming and best of all, they will not mind a little paint on your pants or sawdust in your hair!
New Kim Tar accepts cash only, no credit cards.
